The primary interest of Dr. Luigi Fusi’s activity is the eye well-being, the sight protection, the prevention and the medical/surgical treatment of eye diseases and visual impairment.
Dr. Luigi Fusi’s ophthalmology centres have always been considered as important consultation centres for eye diseases and surgery. During the years, the experience achieved in connection with a large practice, has always been supported by the constant medical and technological updating for a complete professional work.
The scientific activity highlighted by the production of many publications has always been the core interest of Dr. Luigi Fusi, bringing him during the years to be Ophthalmology teacher at the Scuola Infermieri Professionali (School for Trained Nurses) – Unità Socio-Sanitaria 25 in Rivoli and 32 in Moncalieri, and at the Scuola Infermieri Professionali of Ospedale Mauriziano in Turin.
In 1990, the nomination as member of the National Scientific Coordination Committee of the Italian Federation of the Associations for Retinitis Pigmentosa, acknowledged by the International Retinitis Pigmentosa Association, allowed him to devote himself actively at the vast world of eye diseases that are generally grouped under the name hypovision, that often represent a stage towards partial or total blindness. This experience gave birth in 1997 to the national course for vision rehabilitation professionals, addressed to medicine doctors and orthoptists within the Horizon projects.
Being ophthalmology ward manager at Ospedale Evangelico Valdese in Turin, responsible for the running of the ophthalmology service at Ospedali Riuniti – A.S.L. 3 Piedmont, for the ophthalmology service at Ospedale S. Agostino in Avigliana (Turin) and ophthalmology ward manager at the clinic Cellini (operating within the national health service) in Turin, he carries out an intense diagnostic and surgical activity bringing him to deal every day with the most difficult cases of ocular pathologies.
