MACULAR DEGENERATION

Macular degeneration is usually due to the eye aging process (senile macular degeneration), though some patients show a hereditary predisposition: for this is better that the families of the subjects suffering from macular degeneration submit periodically, once they are over 40, to ophthalmologic tests. In other cases, macular degeneration develops after eye traumas, infections, inflammations or myopia.
